Scandinavian Yuletide Event – Saturday 3 August 2019
With the Canberra Winter weather truly arrived, the SAA hosted a Scandinavian Yuletide Feast – with a traditional Christmas smörgåsbord dinner, Scandinavian Christmas music, singing and atmosphere!
Everyone brought a dish to contribute to julbord and the result was an amazing and unique meeting of Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish flavours and traditions!
The SAA Committee thanks all those who came along, with a special thank you to those people who helped with the dishes and packing up of the hall at the end of the evening.
Having received nothing but wonderful feedback, it’s an event that will certainly feature in our calendar again next year.

Danish Constitution Day Buffet – Saturday 1 June 2019
For the second year we held a wonderful buffet luncheon to celebrate Denmark’s Constitution Day. Everyone brought a dish to contribute to det store kolde bord and we had a wonderful variety of food!
Autumn Lake Cruise – Saturday 30 March 2019
On Saturday 30th March the SAA hosted a wonderful evening lake cruise on Lake Burley Griffin. Although it was an unusually cold evening, the lake was still and the skies were clear. Over 40 people attended, some in evening wear and others in fancy dress. The canepes were plentiful and delicious, there were traditional Festalavns Boller and Danish pastries and the music was a fantastic mix of Scandinavian hits.
